Coat your chicken pieces in the seasoned mixture.
Put the chicken in the hot, buttery pan, skin sides facing down, and return to the over for 35 minutes.

Turn the chicken over and cook for a final 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve hot with vegetables, salad, fries or mashed potatoes. You can also add a delicious dipping sauce to go with the chicken.
Tips for perfect oven fried chicken:
- This simple recipe is a mixture of traditional American style cooking with Italian style garlic and herb flavoring. The oven method is much healthier than deep frying the chicken, and gives the same crispy, crunchy texture.
- Whether you use chicken on the bone or fillet meat is down to your family’s preference, though many people prefer the juicy meat you get on the bone.
- This chicken can be served cold at picnics with a dipping sauce as well as eaten hot at home.
- One tip that can make your chicken even tastier is to soak it in buttermilk or a solution of water, salt and sugar (this is called “brining”) before coating and cooking it. This can really enhance the natural taste of the chicken meat.
- To get your coated chicken extra crunchy, try letting the coating dry naturally on the meat for an hour before frying or baking.
- This chicken dish can be served with all different kinds of sides, from corn on the cob and salad through to french fries or mashed potatoes. It is a great family meal for any time of year.
