Gingerbread Cookies

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup dark molasses
  • 1 Tablespoon cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


We begin by sloshing butter with sugar, molasses, vinegar, salt, cinnamon and ginger in a large saucepan, boil until the mixture is boiling and the butter is completely melted

Meanwhile, dissolve the baking soda in a little hot water and add the freshly boiled mixture. Then let the mixture cool for a few minutes.

Then add the egg, flour and baking powder, stirring gently as the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

Then cool the dough in a pan in the refrigerator for the period of 1 hour.

Apply the dough to a board already pre-floured ½ "thick.

Put the cookies on a well-oiled greased cookie sheet and bake in the center of the oven at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Be careful not to burn yourself.

To store the cookies, you should put them in a closed container with fresh white bread to keep the cookies soft.
