Clams With Pasta

Clams With Pasta recipe





  • 350 grams of any thick pasta 
  • 500 grams of clams 
  • 2 onions 
  • 2 red peppers 
  • 2 ripe tomatoes 
  • 2 cloves of garlic 
  • 1 sprig of parsley 
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • Saffron or yellow food coloring 
  • Oil and salt 


Peel the onions, the tomatoes, and the garlic, clean the seeds from the peppers and along with the parsley chop into very fine pieces.

Place a pot with water on the heat with the bay leaf, and add the clams and cook until they open. Next, drain the pot but reserve the liquid.

In a dish, (clay is the best) put the oil and once it has warmed add the vegetables and cook for at least 10 minutes, add the liquid from the clams and bring to a boil then add the pasta.

The pasta takes some 5 minutes to cook, at about 2 minutes add the clams, the saffron or coloring and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.

This dish should be served hot.

Advice: It is important to soak the clams in salt water for half an hour before preparation. Just one that remains full of sand can ruin this dish.
